Titus County has two cemeteries named “Williams”. The other was sometimes called “Glass Cemetery”, so we call it Williams-Glass and this one simply “Williams”.
Williams Cemetery is not a cemetery in the classic sense. It contains only the two graves of a man and wife. The cemetery has a chain link fence around it and is kept in good condition. Why this couple is buried so remotely and yet in such close proximity (about 150 yards) to the Springhill Southeast Cemetery is unknown.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM THE TITUS COUNTY COURTHOUSE:
Travel 0.3 mile South on Madison Street to Ferguson Road.
Turn left (east) on Ferguson Road and continue 3.2 miles (pass through the traffic light at the intersection of South Jefferson Street and Ferguson Road where Ferguson Road becomes Texas Highway 49) to Highway 49's intersection with FM 2348 (Union Hill Road).
Turn right (south) onto FM 2348 (Union Hill Road) and proceed 8.5 miles to the intersection with County Road 4690. Turn left (east) onto County Road 4690
Williams Cemetery will be on the left, about 150 yards from the intersection of FM 2348 and County Road 4690 and just a few feet from the road.
Williams Cemetery is located within 150 yards of Springhill (Southeast) Cemetery and contains only two burials, those of W. Reid and Mattie Dona Williams
