Union Hill is a medium-sized public cemetery rural southeast Titus County. James A. Tabb deeded the property to the Methodist Church in 1897, although examining the gravestones leads to the conclusion that burials took place before this deed (i.e., the cemetery must have been established before the deed). The church established the Union Hill Cemetery Foundation in 1964 with a full slate of officers to oversee a perpetual care fund. This resulted in the cemetery being enclosed by a chain link fence and the grounds being very well kept. Annual Decoration Day services are held on the fourth Saturday in April and a meal is served and business meeting held.
Broken monument parts mark several graves, and various irregular grave markers containing no information can be found throughout the cemetery. For instance, at least 299 flat concrete slabs marking known but unidentified grave sites dominate the cemetery. A petrified tree trunk stands over one grave, and some are marked with funeral home markers and native rocks.
