Traylor Cemetery is a family cemetery on private land in rural Southeastern Titus County. Dunston Traylor, who is buried here, originally owned the land. Ida Traylor, his descendent, owned the land and set aside one acre land before the Civil War for burial of Traylor family members.
The cemetery has not been used for some time. The entire acre is not enclosed, but there is a chain link fence around the marked gravesites and the enclosed area is well maintained. Approximately seven graves seem to be marked with a concrete slab at the head and foot. The twin children of Dunston and Frances Traylor are interred in separate concrete crypts beside Dunston's grave
DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM THE TITUS COUNTY COURTHOUSE:
Travel 0.3 miles South on Madison Street to Ferguson Road (US 271). Turn left (east) on Ferguson Road and continue 0.1 mile to the intersection of Jefferson Street (US 271). Ferguson Road then changes designation to Texas 49. Continue for 8.2 miles where a private drive into a pasture enclosed by gates with "HR" on them intersects the right side of the highway. The cemetery is in the woods about 150 yards northeast of the gate into the pasture.
