Talco Cemetery is the large public cemetery serving the City of Talco and vicinity in extreme Northeast Titus County. It is well maintained by the Talco Cemetery Committee. There is little evidence remaining of unmarked graves and maintenance crews fill in all depressions. In Talco's early history the oil boom brought in many outsiders and several deaths resulted from working the oil fields. The cemetery is relatively new with 1909 being the earliest death indicated by monuments. Since cemetery maintenance has been so thorough, there are few indications of graves without monuments. There is one funeral home marker with a name that looks like Bond.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM THE TITUS COUNTY COURTHOUSE:
Travel north on North Jefferson Street (which becomes U.S. 271) for 16.7 miles to the north edge of Talco, Texas.
The cemetery lies about 0.1 mile down an intersecting city street on the right side of US 271 in the north edge of Talco. The street does not have a sign or number, but the cemetery is generally visible from the highway.
