Information That Titus Cemetery Search Can Provide
Upon receipt, we read your inquiry, search our database, and send you a reply listing all information we have about the person. You can request multiple searches in the same e-mail, and only need to list one person's name in the subject line. We reply by a separate e-mail for each name requested, so if you ask for information about three people, you will receive at least three reply e-mails (possibly a few more if we cannot locate the exact name you request but have some that are close).
Information in our database varies from burial to burial, depending on what is available. Our reply includes as much of the following information we have available for the burial:
First, Middle, Last Names
Birth and Death Dates
Burial Cemetery Name
Marker Inscription (if any)
Low-resolution marker photo (if a grave marker or tombstone is present and a photo
is available). We have approximately 18,000 marker photos from all of the major
cemeteries. We are still photographing some of the smaller cemeteries that are
located on private property.
Any other notes (who shares the plot, brief information about person, etc if available)
Obituary text is available for some, but not all, burials. We currently have approximately
8,400 obituaries in file for approx 26,750 burials. Some years are fairly complete,
but we have almost no obituaries from others.
A high resolution photo of the grave marker or tombstone is available in digital or printed form for a nominal fee.
These local facts that may be of interest:
Titus County was established from Red River County in 1845, with Mount Pleasant as the county seat.
Franklin and Morris Counties were demarked from Titus County land in 1875. If you are searching for a pre-1875 burial, even though other documents may show it to be in Titus County, it is possible that it is now actually located in Franklin or Morris County.
Our database only covers present-day Titus County. If we cannot provide the burial information requested, you may find your loved one listed on Franklin or Morris County message boards or cemetery listings.
The Mt. Pleasant Daily Times newspapers are stored on microfilm at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library.
The oldest newspapers begin on September 14, 1923. It is impossible for us to obtain obituaries before this date. Approximately the first 6 months of 1924 newspapers are missing.
