Harris Cemetery is located in far north central Titus County near and northwest of the Sugarhill Community. It is named for the Harris family, who have the only two monuments that remain to mark the cemetery. A residence is located about 75 feet from the two monuments.
Harris Cemetery is also called Boase Cemetery after Samuel Boase (1818-1897) an early settler in the area, or Betheney Cemetery after the name of a small Baptist Church that was nearby but long since removed.
It is said to be quite a large cemetery with as many as 250 people buried there. A few stones and depressions are evidence of other graves.
