Evergreen Cemetery is located in far northeast Titus County about 15 miles east of Talco on FM Highway 71 and about one mile from the Morris County line. It lies in the forks of Titus County Road 3925 and Farm Road 71.
Evergreen is an old, abandoned African-American cemetery that will soon be lost without proper maintenance. Members of the Logan, Price, and other families are buried in this cemetery. At least thirteen unmarked graves are visible. Eight native stones remain to mark some of the graves. One stone has the initials D. A. W. and E. G. W. scratched into it. The cemetery contains only one monument. It is in memory of Mose Price born: March 3, 1853 died: March 12, 1920
DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM THE TITUS COUNTY COURTHOUSE:
Travel 1.4 miles north on north Jefferson Street (Business U.S. 271) to its intersection with Burton Road (the south service road of Interstate 30).
Turn right (east) onto the service road and continue 0.5 miles to the intersection of Texas Farm Road 1402 (Harts Bluff Road).
Turn left (north) at the stop sign and cross Interstate 30 on FM 1402.
Proceed for 12.4 miles to the intersection of FM 71.
Turn right (east) onto FM 71 and proceed 6.6 miles to the intersection from the left of CR 3925.
Turn left onto CR 3925. The cemetery will lie on left about 0.1 mile.
Evergreen Cemetery well fenced, but is overgrown and in need of cleaning before graves are lost.
The only monument in the cemetery belongs to Mose Price. The top portion has fallen and is leaned up against the base
