Belcher Cemetery is a small public cemetery near Talco in north central Titus County. Its exact origin is not known, but its approximate establishment is shown Kernel Alford Belcher's monument, who was buried January 17, 1880. Mr. Lynch Harper believed that Mr. George Belcher donated land to establish the cemetery, but no proof has been found.
Twenty eight (28) wood, native stone, and metal grave markers are visible throughout the cemetery and other large vacant areas where other graves most likely exist. At least two depressions most likely indicate unmarked graves. A funeral home marker is located beside a native stone. The only recognizable inscription is “died Aug ---”. Another funeral home marker is located beside a native stone.
